Encoder
Data encoder is responsible for compiling, sorting and processing data. Encoders also do filing and organizing as part of their job duties.
Responsibilities
- Accurately and efficiently encodes all data that needs organizing and recording.
- Confirms that entered data accurately aligns with original documentation.
- Organizes and maintains original paper evidence.
- Assures files are properly prepared and saved to backup drives
- Transcribes, scans, or photocopies hard copy documents and forms as needed.
- Self-audits work and checks for errors or duplication.
- Reviews, sorts, and compiles data to make sure it's accurate before entering it in the system.
- Maintains the data system and ensures all information is correctly recorded.
- Updates the system by entering the new relevant data into the system.
- Adheres to and meest set schedules and deadlines.
- Performs any other office tasks that management requires assistance with (sending emails, answering phones, etc.)
- Reports any major errors or inconsistencies to upper management.
- Maintains report logs of in-progress and/or completed work.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Knowledge and experience working in the same industry.
- Computer literate with experience using Microsoft Office and other data entry programs.
- Can encode data with speed and accuracy.
- Basic math skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Adept at file management (both digitally and manually).
- Ability to quickly learn industry-related regulations quickly and utilize information in written reports.
- Strong critical thinking skills.
