Job Summary: We are seeking a talented and experienced freelance video editor to join our team on a project-by-project basis. The ideal candidate will possess excellent video editing skills, a keen eye for detail, and a creative mindset. As a freelance video editor, you will be responsible for transforming raw footage into visually captivating videos that align with our client's objectives and specifications. You will collaborate closely with clients and other team members to ensure the final product meets or exceeds expectations. This is a remote position, and the workload will vary depending on project demands.
Responsibilities:
- Edit raw video footage to create high-quality, engaging videos that adhere to the clients' creative vision and specifications.
- Collaborate with clients and team members to understand project requirements, desired narrative, and overall objectives.
- Select the best shots and sequences to construct a compelling visual story, ensuring seamless transitions, continuity, and flow.
- Apply video and audio effects, color correction, and other enhancements to enhance the overall quality and visual appeal of the videos.
- Integrate graphics, titles, subtitles, and other visual elements as needed, ensuring they align with the client's brand identity.
- Communicate effectively with clients, videographers, producers, and other stakeholders to gather feedback, make revisions, and ensure client satisfaction.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Stay up to date with the latest video editing software, techniques, and industry trends to ensure proficiency and creative excellence.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and find creative solutions to challenges that may arise during the editing process.
- Ensure all edited videos are delivered in the appropriate formats, resolutions, and aspect ratios for various platforms (e.g., social media, websites, television).
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a freelance video editor or in a similar role, showcasing a portfolio of high-quality video projects.
- Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or Davinci Resolve.
- Strong understanding of video editing techniques, storytelling principles, and visual aesthetics.
- Knowledge of color correction, audio editing, motion graphics, and other post-production techniques.
- Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to maintain consistency and continuity throughout the editing process.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with clients and team members remotely.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet project deadlines.
- Creative problem-solving skills to overcome technical limitations and enhance the overall quality of videos.
- Familiarity with different video formats, compression settings, and delivery specifications for various platforms.
- A passion for staying up to date with industry trends, software updates, and emerging editing techniques.
