Position Overview:
As a Guidance Counselor at Little Me Academy, you will play a crucial role in supporting the academic, career, and personal development of our students. You will provide counseling services, guidance, and resources to help students navigate their educational journey and make informed decisions about their future. Your expertise and compassionate approach will empower students to overcome challenges, set goals, and achieve their full potential.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide individual and group counseling sessions to address students' academic, career, and personal concerns.
2. Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify students' strengths, interests, and areas for growth.
3. Implement programs and workshops to promote mental health, resilience, and social-emotional well-being.
4. Support students in managing stress, conflict resolution, and developing coping strategies.
5. Maintain accurate and confidential student records, including progress notes and counseling reports.
6. Serve as a resource to teachers and staff, offering guidance on student-related concerns.
7. Collaborate with community organizations, colleges, and employers to provide additional resources and opportunities for students.
8. Stay updated on counseling techniques, educational trends, and relevant legal and ethical guidelines.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Counseling or a related field.
2. (Preferred but not required) Proven experience in providing counseling services to students, preferably in an educational setting.
3. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills.
4. Empathy, patience, and the ability to build rapport with students of diverse backgrounds.
5. Proficient in using technology for counseling purposes and maintaining student records.
6. Familiarity with relevant legal and ethical guidelines for student counseling.
7. Strong English communication skills.
