Head Purchaser [Philippines]


 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify and evaluate suppliers/vendors for food and non-food items based on quality, price, reliability, and delivery speed.
  • Negotiate favorable terms and prices with suppliers to ensure cost-effective purchasing while maintaining quality standards.
  • Place orders with approved suppliers and monitor delivery schedules to ensure timely receipt of goods.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen and management team to develop and maintain a comprehensive inventory management system.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and minimize waste or overstocking.
  • Track and analyze key performance indicators related to purchasing, such as inventory turnover, stock-out rates, and supplier performance.
  • Monitor market trends and industry developments to identify potential cost-saving opportunities or new product offerings.
  • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, addressing any issues or concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Stay updated on food safety regulations and ensure compliance in all purchasing activities.
  • Work closely with the finance team to reconcile invoices, resolve discrepancies, and maintain accurate purchasing records.

REQUIRMENTS

  • Previous experience as a purchaser or in a similar procurement role, preferably in the restaurant or food service industry.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement principles, inventory management, and supply chain processes.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to secure favorable terms and prices from suppliers.
  • Proficient in using inventory management software and other relevant tools.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
  • Detail-oriented and thorough in maintaining accurate records and documentation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with suppliers, kitchen staff, and management.
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and standards.
  • A proactive and self-motivated approach to work, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: From Php18,000.00 per month
