About the role


We are pleased to announce that we are inviting applications for the Coordinator - Customer Service & Supply role who will coordinate import and export activities for the Australia-Pacific region to/from Orica’s customers and suppliers globally.

The successful candidate will provide coordinate freight movements by liaising with shipping lines and freight forwarders, preparing shipping and commercial documents for customer orders, meeting with business stakeholders to provide updates, ensuring that all freight/shipping-related transactions are completed accurately in the system, vendor invoice management (VIM) and investigating and resolving customer order issues.

What you will be doing


  • Coordinate Import/Export activity through the receival, review and processing of customer product orders.
  • Communicate with shipping lines and freight forwarders to book and execute freight movements.
  • Work with Orica Planning and Distribution teams to coordinate freight movements and investigate and resolve order issues.
  • Prepare shipping and commercial documents for customer orders.
  • Attend weekly meetings with internal customers and operational teams to provide status updates on allocated customer orders.
  • Ensure that all freight/shipping related system transactions (SAP) are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Prepare customer order status reports.
  • Receives, reviews and processes vendor invoices for allocated supply chain suppliers (VIM or vendor invoice management).
  • Provides support to team members and the Specialist Import/Export for any other supply chain tasks as required.
  • Actively contribute to Import/Export team activities, objectives, and initiatives.
  • Promptly responds to and resolves queries from internal and external customers.
  • Accurately completes required ERP (SAP - 4/S Hannah) processes and transactions in accordance with documented procedures.
  • Constantly monitors and completes key system transactions in a timely manner.
  • Works with Orica Accounts Payable and Operational teams to ensure efficient supplier payment and issue resolution.

What you will bring


  • The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of relevant experience within the Shipping/Logistics department of a large global organization
  • Proficiency in both written and verbal English is essential.
  • Familiarisation and experience with using large scale ERP (SAP S/4-Hanna preferred) for invoice, customer order and transport task processing.
  • Prior experience in front-line customer service, preferably in a shipping, procurement, logistics or manufacturing environment, is desirable.
  • Should possess fast and accurate data entry skills.
  • Experience in reviewing and processing supplier invoices for payment.
  • Experience in coordinating international freight movements and familiarity with documents and concepts used in international freight is desirable.
