Gate Keeper job description

Some of the typical duties include:

  • Greeting customers and conducting security checks: as a gate keeper, you greet visitors and employees as they enter the building or premises' gate. For employees, you make sure to record their time in and out in the Security Logbook. You also check employees’, customers' and visitors' bags to ensure they don't carry unauthorised items into the building.
  • Monitoring traffic at the gate: as a gate keeper, your job involves opening gates for cars entering or leaving the premises. You also direct visitors to ideal parking spots to ease movements around the entrance and exit areas.
  • Patrolling commercial or industrial premises: you need to regularly patrol the premises and check for signs of forced entry or intrusions. Regular patrols also help you identify the least secure areas. For instance, you can recommend the installation of reinforced doors or windows in vulnerable areas.
  • Writing reports: as a gate keeper, your job involves writing reports at the end of your shift or workday. You report daily activities and security incidents like property or equipment damages, the presence of unauthorised persons or theft.
  • Reporting incidents and calling for help in emergencies: as a gate keeper, you answer alarms and investigate disturbances or suspicious activities. If someone commits a criminal offence or attempts to rob the company, you must report the incidents to your supervisor or law enforcement. You also need to follow company policy when handling incidents. In emergencies like fire outbreaks, you guide people to safety and call the fire department

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Attain at least a high school diploma. A graduate degree in criminology is advantageous.
  • Must be both physically and mentally fit.
  • A minimum height of at least 5 feet and 4 inches.
  • Proven 2-3 years of experience as front-line security.
  • With basic Self-defense training.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • A good decision-maker and has the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Undergo a pre-licensing training course (PLTC) at any accredited training center.
  • Complete requirements such as the training certificate, pre-license training certificate, firearms proficiency certificate, court clearance, as well as a neuropsychiatric and drug test clearance.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: Php10,000.00 - Php10,500.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Cagayan de Oro City, Misamis Oriental: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

  • Front-line Security: 1 year (Preferred)
